Frits Gerritsen
"STARS FROM THE SIXTIES"
Photographer Frits Gerritsen has been following the after world war II development of Dutch talent related to music and theatre closely. At almost all the editions of the SNIP & SNAP REVUE, a very popular theatre comedy show, and the Grand Gala DU DISQUE, the Dutch equivalent of the Grammy Award show, he was present with his camera.
In his studio and on location he produced many portraits of Dutch and foreign artists such as Toon Hermans, Rita Reys, Willy en Willeke Alberti, Marlène Dietrich, Pia Beck, Anneke Grönloh, Rob de Nijs, Corry Brokken, Ko van Dijk, Sigrid Koetse, Johnny en Rijk, Donald Jones, Johnny Hoes, Jasperina de Jong, Adèle Bloemendaal, Wim Sonneveld and Albert Mol.
For this exhibition 42 photographs have been selected which give a great impression of the Dutch musical scene in the sixties.
This exhibition has been opened by producer Hans Sleeswijk.
