FLEUR KONING "The rendezvous".
"The rendezvous" is the title of an exhibition by photographer Fleur Koning in which she combines photography with film. The combination consists of a series about women whose characters Fleur has experienced as role models. The past few years she met all these more or less well known Dutch women such as Tosca Niterink, Frederique Spigt, Gerda Havertong and Sacha Bulthuis by accident. Fleur admires their authenticity which each of them show in their own way of life.
In order to take their portraits she asked each of them to look straight into her camera in the same manner. However, they ultimately have their "own look". Because she uses a pinhole camera the woman have so sit still which can make it uncomfortable for them. To overcome this she asked them to hold her hand whilst the picture was taken. This holding hands carries the love between two people. Fleur wants in return to give some of her power and energy to the woman who gave or still give to her. This true rendezvous has been captured in the final portrait.
During the process the women are being filmed. The photographs and film cannot be seen without each other. By the combination of these disciplines the rendezvous is being enlarged and, looking at it, one feels involved in this energy. This exhibition does not only show the personal respect and love of Fleur for these woman but the onlooker will meet these woman in a very personal way as well.
The exhibition will be opened by Tosca Niterink.
During this exhibition
sculptures from Heleen Levano can be seen in the connected
