CORINNA FUCKAS "GETIJDEN".
Onder de titel "Niemandsland" belicht de Oost Duitse fotografe Corinna Fuckas de problematiek van de winning van bruinkool rond het dorp Horno in de Duitse streek Lausitz. Al meer dan 10 jaar protesteren de bewoners tegen deze onomkeerbare verwoesting van het landschap en de dorpen in dit gebied. De meeste inwoners zijn Sorben die hier al eeuwen wonen. Hun geschiedenis en cultuur is door de bruinkoolwinning ernstig aangetast. Haar foto's van dit gebied geven een vreemd en fascinerend beeld alsof van een andere wereld.
Onder de titel "Onderweg" toont Corinna Fuckas momentopnamen van haar talrijke reizen, haar persoonlijke indrukken van het dagelijks leven in uiteenlopende landen.

In the essay "No man's land" the East German photographer Corinna Fuckas delineated the subject human being in its environment on the basis of the village Horno in the German region Lausitz, which had to yield after more than 10 years of resistance against the brown coal open cast mining. For decades many villages have been destroyed if they were built on coal. Most inhabitants of these villages are of the national minority of the Sorbs, who lived in this region for centuries. Along with these villages also the roots and culture have been destroyed irrecoverable. Through the extreme interference into nature the character of the landscapes has changed dramatically. These former mining's seem foreign, strange and fascinating, as if not from this world. In the essay "On the road" she shows moments like movie stills, instants taken from daily life and views she took on her ways, watching.
