JAN VERLAAT
At an early age Jan Verlaat, born in 1946 at Grootebroek, took an interest in photography. He started his career as a professional photographer in 1963 with wedding and portrait photography. He owned his own studio's on several locations in Holland. The past ten years most of his commissions derive from advertising agencies and other commercial companies. His specialty is food photography.
His passion in his autonomous work is landscape photography, mainly in his home area, the province of North Holland. Initially analogue and black and white. With some subtle image editing he creates a special atmosphere.
Photographs of Jan Verlaat have been exhibited in galleries in Hoorn and Woerden.
