MARCO BAKKER
After Marco Bakker completed his studies photography at the MTS at The Hague, he started his career as an independent photographer. His speciality is portrait photography and his images have been published in magazines such as Elsevier, FEM De Week, Grasduinen, ManagementScope, ELAN, LIV (Volvo) and STILE (Alfa Romeo). Price Waterhouse Coopers published some of his images in their yearbook. For book publisher Prometheus he produced portraits of the authors signed to this company.
Exhibitions featuring his photographs took place at De Twee Wezen (Enkhuizen), the council building of Enkhuizen, the Engelbewaarder at Amsterdam, the Art at home Route at Edam and Gallery De Ploegh at Amersfoort. In 2005 his first photo book called Exit Edam was published. The book contains 30 portraits of well known Dutch people who lived at Edam for some time. Marco now works on a photo book about singer songwriters, one about the Australian artist Vali Myers (1930-2003) and a book entitled "The last fishermen of Enkhuizen", of which some photos have been published in the Volkskrant Magazine.
